gentlemenONLY works with men from all over the UK of varying ages (18 and over), shapes, sizes, backgrounds and levels of modelling experience to produce male portraiture, fitness, creative and artistic nudes. The ethos of GO's work is that any man, whether he’s a sportsman, binman, barista or barrister can be a model given the right photographic direction and a sprinkling of industry magic. On a deeper level GO's work also explores issues of the male identity through stories written about each shoot and the thoughts and feelings of each gentlemen posing.

A typical photo session will be discussed with each model via e-mail or phone prior to the date of the shoot. Each shoot then takes place at GO's home studio in Norfolk and starts with a discussion about the editorial and technical aims of the shoot. All models must be over 18 at time of photography and will be expected to show photographic proof of age (passport/driving licence) before the shoot can commence. Models will also be expected to sign a standard photographic release form. All paperwork will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.

Models should arrive at the shoot with their hair styled to look its best and keep body hair as natural as possible (or lightly trimmed) as body hair is preferred over a totally shaven appearance. Models should bring clothes they feel comfortable in and are happy to be photographed wearing. Best to bring two sets of outfits in case one is not suitable. A big part of GO's shoots is to bring out the personality of the model, so capturing the model's own sense of style and appearance is important. If a uniform (builders overalls, chef's whites, suit etc) or sports kit (football, rugby, boxing, MMA) is a big part of the model's work or social life models are encouraged to bring those along as well

The shoot then progresses with a mixture of portrait, clothed full body, fitness / physique and nude shots. Full frontal nudity is required. Each shoot typically takes about 2 or 3 hours and models can request breaks or to look at the photos as they are being captured in camera at any point during the shoot. The photographer will give direction to help models with posing and creating nice imagery but it is also good to hear the model's ideas about poses and things they'd like to try in their shoot.

Models are paid at the end of the shoot and are not entitled to any copies of the pictures. The photographer retains complete copyright of the images. However should models be interested in obtaining some pictures from their shoot this can be discussed with the photographer. After the shoot some selected images from the shoot will be passed through photoshop for a professional edit. At GO's discretion all images (both edited and unedited) may be used as seen best to display and publicise GO's work. GO's shoots routinely lead to repeat work and could lead to further work within the modelling industry.

Prior to the shoot models should notify the photographer if the model develops a high temperature, a new continuous cough, has a change in sense of smell of taste or if the model tests positive for Covid-19. If this happens the model's shoot will be postponed until a mutually agreeable date in the future when the model is free of the virus / clear of symptoms. The same applies to the photographer notifying models should the photographer develop any Covid symptoms and need to postpone the shoot. The photographer will be the only other person present at the shoot and models are not allowed to bring guests to the shoot in order to minimise people in the studio space and to allow safe social distancing. Regular handwashing / sanitising will also be expected.
